Srinagar April 21 (PTK) Top Lashkar-e-Toiba militant has been killed in an encounter in Malwah area of Baramulla on Thursday.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that top LeT commander Yousuf Kantroo has been killed in an encounter in Baramulla.

He said that he was involved in several killings of civilians and security forces personnel including recent killing SPO and his brother, one solider and one civilian in Budgam.

It is big success for us, he added.

Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.

During initial exchange of fire, three soldiers and one civilian were injured. (PTK)
