Aru Valley in Pahalgam Wins Best Tourism Village Award 2024 for Adventure Tourism

Srinagar,September 27: The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has declared Aru Valley, located in Pahalgam, as one of the winners of the Best Tourism Villages Competition 2024. Known for its scenic beauty and adventurous activities, Aru Valley emerged victorious in the Adventure Tourism category.

The recognition, announced on World Tourism Day, highlights efforts to promote sustainable tourism while preserving the natural environment. With infrastructure development and a focus on enhancing visitor experiences, the award is seen as a boost for further development in the region.

Out of 991 entries from 30 states and UTs, Aru Valley was among 36 villages recognized across 8 categories in the competition, emphasizing the preservation of cultural and natural assets through community-driven sustainability.
