Army pays tribute to CDS Bipin Rawat at Sopore

Srinagar, 10 Dec (PTK) : The indian Army on friday organised a ceremony here at degree college Sopore to pay rich tributes to India’s first chief of defence Gen Bipin Rawat, who died in an unfortunate accident after an indian Air Force helicopter crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday afternoon .

According to press trust of (PTK) GOC Kilo force along with seven sector comander, other army officials and prominent personals from civil and district administration paid homage to CDS Bipin Rawat and 12 others here at GDC Sopore .

Meanwhile Muncipal Committee Chairman, Masrat Kar while talking with reporters said that “we deeply saddened by the passing away of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, whom she described as an “outstanding soldier,” adding that “his untimely death is an irreparable loss to our Armed Forces and the country.”

Pertinently Gen Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were among the 13 persons who died in the tragic helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday afternoon.(PTK)
