Army organises a football tournament in Ganderbal

Press Trust of Kashmir | Ganderbal : Army continues its endeavors to engage local youth in sports activities and in this connection, they organised a football tournament in Ganderbal.

An official said that in continuation with its endeavour towards constructive engagement of the youth, a inter village Sindh Valley Football tournament was organised between the 36 teams of local youth.

He said that the event was kicked off from 29 Jun 21.The event witnessed an active participation by youth of DOODARHAMA, Ganderbal who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Finals was being played between Sindhbal and Gogjigund village teams and finally Gogjigund team won the tournament in Penalty shootout by 5-4. Both the teams awarded with trophies and cash reward.

He further added that the event was witnessed various social and political leaders of Ganderbal town incl 550 local villagers.

He said that Indian Army is instrumental in engaging the youth and awaam in this difficult time and reassuring them of Army’s continued support in every sphere of their lives which will ultimately boost the bonhomie between the Army and local Awaam.(PTK).
