SRINAGAR, Oct 07(PTK): Ex-MLA & Apni Party District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh on Thursday expressed deep shock over a massive fire incident in Parimpora locality near Fruit Mandi where various residential houses were engulfed in an ominous blaze this afternoon.

Sheikh also visited the affected locality where he listened to the pressing pleas of the locals. He expressed profound solidarity with the victim families besides assuring them of every possible help.

In a statement issued here, Sheikh said that such an incident has shattered the hopes of the fire affected families who now have nowhere to go. He said these families must be rehabilitated immediately in order to avoid any further inconvenience to them as they are in dire need of administrative help in this hour of despair.

Sheikh also asserted that the administration must dispatch assessment teams on ground zero so that they take cognizance of the situation and assess the damages incurred.

“The district administration must disburse ex-gratia relief to the fire victim families on a prompt basis. Besides paying an adequate compensation, the concerned authorities must ensure that a temporary shelter is provided to the fire victims at an earliest and without any fail,” he demanded.(PTK).
