Amira Kadal’s pathetic drainage system yet another proof of previous regimes’s failure: Kadfeen

Srinagar:  Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Tuesday expressed concern over the failed drainage system in Amira Kadal’s several areas, stating that people are bearing the brunt of this non- seriousness of the helmsmen in more ways than one.

He said that the drainage system in the area is completely messed up and bad weather is adding to peoples miseries. He added that due to recent downpour in the valley, not only did the area become a cesspool, but the residents here are irked by the lack of arrangements to tackle the conditions arising due to bad weather.

Kadfeen said that it is surprising that even during summers, if there is precipitation for mere two days, water logging becomes a major  issue in the area.

Kadfeen said that it is ironic why the previous representatives of the area didn’t even bother to rectify the erratic drainage system and provide relief to the locals.

He urged the  Governor administration to direct the Srinagar Municipal Corporation for addressing the issues of water logging in the constituency and  come up with a comprehensive plan for a durable  drainage system.
