Says administration forcing horse trading
Srinagar Dec, (PTK) National Conference vice president and former CM Omar Abdullah on Saturday alleged that administration is using police to force winning candidates to join B team of BJP.
According to PTK, Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah said that is arresting leaders of PAGD the win of democracy what BJP leaders claimed after DDC polls that Democracy has blossomed in J&K.
He said that everything is going on in valley without democracy as leaders are being detained on name of preventive detention and it is just to force winning DDC candidates to join apni party.
He said that DDCs who have won on congress, PDP and NC tickets are brought to Srinagar and forced to join Apni party just like a day before a DDC from Shopian who won on NC ticket was forced to join Apni party.
If Shabir Ahmad Khullay, a NC leader from Shopian wasn’t kept in preventive detention after abrogation of article 370, then why today he has been detained on name of detained, he said, adding that Showkat Ganaie an ex MLC from Watchi Shopian and other leaders are being detained just to pave way so that chairman of DDCs will be from other PAGD.
Omar said that those who joined apni party a day before, one of them got elected on NC mandate. “This explains why our leaders in Shopian district are being put under “preventive arrest” by the police. J&K police and the administration are facilitating horse trading and defections.

Omar went on to say that the administration was playing partisan to help the ‘ruling party’.
“Shame on this administration for playing partisan politics to curry favour with the ruling party and their stooges. These parties couldn’t win seats so now they are using money/muscle/threats and government coercion to make up the numbers. So much for “democracy has won!” Omar said. (PTK)
