Press Trust of Kashmir | Ganderbal : In times of digital world, a village in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district which is also a tourist destination is still lacking mobile connectivity due to which the villagers and tourists continue to remain disconnected with the rest of the world.

Locals from Naranagh said that this village being a remote area in Ganderbal district has no mobile tower as well.

They said that the mobile phones have become an important tool to stay connected with the people in the world, especially with the dear ones.

Our village is still lacking this facility due to which they are facing tremendous hardships, said a local

A group of students said that they are the worst sufferers as they are not able to get education due to the closure of Schools and the absence of mobile connectivity.

“We are not able to attend online classes as there is no mobile connectivity in our locality,” they said.

We have to go by foot for kilometers to reach a destination where there is proper connectivity to attend the classes.

They appealed to the administration to look into the matter and ensure mobile connectivity is made available in the village, saying that the student community has not been able to get education at par with the students from other localities and districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

On one hand government has been claiming that they are developing rural areas but on ground it is proving a hoax, they said.

If area, will get government attention it will prove very beneficial for locals and with connectivity tourists will visit the area, they added.

Meanwhile, the locals also appealed to the administration to provide the basic network facility in their area as soon as possible so that locals can have a sigh of relief.(PTK).
