PTK MONITORING DESK

Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Chief Minister and current chief patron of the Democratic Progressive Alliance Party (DPAP), may soon return to the Congress Party, according to sources. The Gandhis have reportedly approached Azad to resolve past differences ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Azad left the Congress in 2022, forming DPAP shortly after. Deliberations are ongoing between Azad and the senior Congress leadership, with a final decision expected soon. This development comes as the Election Commission has announced the election schedule for Jammu and Kashmir, starting on September 18.
