FIRs Filed Against Hotel and Lodge Owners for Lack of CCTV Cameras in Reasi District

Jammu, July 11: In a recent crackdown on non-compliance, police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district have registered FIRs against several hotel and lodge owners for failing to install CCTV cameras.

Following the Reasi district magistrate’s directive mandating the installation of CCTV cameras in all hotels, lodges, and medical shops, police conducted a surprise inspection in Katra town. According to a police spokesperson, five lodges were found without the required surveillance equipment.

As a result, five FIRs were lodged against the owners of these establishments for non-compliance with the order.

Reasi SSP Mohita Sharma emphasized the importance of using technology to enhance security and urged owners of hotels, lodges, and medical shops to install CCTV cameras. She stated that this measure is crucial for monitoring and deterring criminal activities in the district.

The district magistrate’s order aims to bolster security and ensure the safety of residents and visitors by leveraging modern surveillance technology.
