Three Injured in Knife Attack During NC Rally in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Three youths sustained injuries in an alleged knife attack during a National Conference (NC) rally in Mendhar, Poonch district, on Sunday. The rally was attended by NC President and Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency candidate, Mian Altaf.

Sources report that a clash erupted between two groups on the fringes of the rally, culminating in one group wielding a knife and injuring three individuals. The injured were first taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to GMC Rajouri for advanced medical treatment.

Dr. Javid Ahmad indicated that one of the victims, Yasir Ahmad (22) from Gultha Harni, is in serious condition. The other two injured have been identified as Suhail Ahmad, from Qasab Mendhar, and Imran Ahmad, who reportedly fled the hospital for reasons yet unknown.

A police official confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made, but authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspects.

In the aftermath of the incident, local residents staged a protest at Main Chowk Mendhar, demanding justice for the victims.
