Srinagar, May 3: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has decried the decision of morning schooling time in Srinagar Municipal areas. In a statement Chairman JKCSF and former President of J&K Teachers Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani said that keeping the schooling time too early at 8:30 am is not a good decision as far the ever changing weather of Kashmir is concerned. Secondly, he said such decisions suit to those schools only that are boarding schools.

” Here in Kashmir weather in mornings and evenings remains always cool and office time begins at 10 am, the morning time of too early time deprives kids of enjoying breakfast together with families and their sleep too gets disturbed as they happen to wake up too early. This forceful preparation of kids affects their psyche and inturn affects their freedom.” Wani said

Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum advocates for the relegation of school timing to 10am to 4pm as that is compatible with Kashmir weather and psyche.

Children are our future and that should be our priority, school kids should not be made suffer by virtue of disturbing their childhood by keeping school timing too early for the sake of other things like avoidance of traffic jams. For that matter some other strategies could be exercised.

JKCSF demands that school timing be changed back to its own timing for the sake of kids mental peace and their childhood rights.
