JAMMU :  As the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls unfolds, the Udhampur constituency has marked a notable voter turnout of over 57 percent by 3 pm, signaling active civic engagement in the electoral process.

 

According to officials, the Udhampur constituency witnessed a turnout of 57.09% by 3 pm, with the momentum of polling steadily increasing throughout the day.

 

Despite heavy rain in several areas of Udhampur and Kathua districts, voters turned out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right. The high-stakes constituency, amidst its unique challenges, saw polling commencing at 7 am and continuing with determination and enthusiasm.

 

The first phase of the Lok Sabha polls encompasses 102 seats spread across 21 states and Union Territories, reflecting the broad spectrum of voices contributing to the democratic fabric of the nation.
