SRINAGAR: In a bid to enhance efficiency and convenience for patients, the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has introduced a QR Code system for swift payments across its facilities, following directives from the Secretary of Health and Medical Education.
The initiative aims to streamline payment processes, ensuring quicker transactions for patients visiting the hospital. Currently operational at one counter within the Outpatient Department (OPD) service area, the QR Code-enabled online payment system is set to expand to all counters across the hospital in collaboration with stakeholders.
Dr. [Medical Superintendent’s Name], Medical Superintendent at SKIMS, emphasized the collaborative efforts to extend the QR Code facility, anticipating a notable reduction in payment-related delays, thereby enhancing patient care services.
Additionally, SKIMS has integrated Point of Sale (POS) machines across all cash counters in the OPD and pharmacy sections, offering patients and visitors diverse payment options to suit their preferences.
The adoption of QR Code technology underscores SKIMS’ commitment to modernize its payment infrastructure, ultimately optimizing operational efficiency in delivering healthcare services to the community.
