Theft case at Rajouri court complex solved:- Police

Accused held, stolen items recovered

SRINAGAR (PTK):- Police in Rajouri claimed to have arrested the accused involved in theft case at Rajouri court complex.

Police in a statement said that on the intervening night of 3/4 April 2023 a theft incident took place inside the Malkhana of Court Complex Rajouri in which various items were stolen. In this regard case FIR No. 143/2023, under Section 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Rajouri.

Subsequent to this, special teams were constituted who analysed CCTV footage at various locations along with technical evidence. Building upon this, few suspects were rounded up and the accused were identified as Mohd Showket S/o Mir Moh, Caste- Gujjar, R/o Khadi Khalmara, Teh- Poonch and Mohd Taj S/o Mohd Aslam R/O Hayyatpur, Manjakote who confessed their involvement in the case, police said.

On the disclosure of Mohd Showket S/O Mir, Police team recovered the stolen property, which included 04 packets of Heroine like substance weighing approx 04kgs (valued in crores), 01 Lakh cash in Fake India Currency Notes (FICN) and 01 Mobile phone, police added.

Further investigation in the case is going on to unearth involvement of the accused in other theft cases in the district, police added further. (PTK)
