Block Diwas: DDC chairman Jammu, DC listen to people’s issues at R.S Pura
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR JAMMU, OCTOBER 12: District Development Council Chairman, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi and Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today listened to public grievances at the weekly block Diwas program at R S Pura.
Delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals apprised the DDC Chairman and DC about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.
The main issues highlighted during the programme were related to irregular supply of water and electricity, Revenue services, land compensation, up-gradation of road connectivity including Jammu-R.S Pura road, drinking water availability, cleanliness and sanitation of the area etc.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the delegations and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their genuine grievances.

She assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.
She also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets ensuring the delivery of the benefits to the rural masses.
The Deputy Commissioner also gave standing instructions to the concerned department to expedite the renovation work on Jammu-R S Pura Road.
Consequently, the DDC Chairman directed the sectoral officers to take the projected demands on priority and ensure that people’s issues were resolved at the earliest.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Government Boys/Girls High School Badyal Brahmana. She checked the attendance register and enquired about the quality of mid day meal being provided to the children.
