Role & support of media vital in war against drugs:  DC Kulgam

Holds meeting with media persons on upcoming campaign against drug abuse

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KULGAM, AUGUST 31: Menace of drugs needs to be dealt with very severely at each level and every stakeholder have to play proactive role for elimination of this menace and media is vital tool and stakeholder in this war against the drug abuse, stated Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat during a meeting with media persons at mini-secretariat, here.

At the outset of the meeting, the media persons were apprised about the month long campaign against drug abuse scheduled from tomorrow. He said that multifarious activities and awareness campaigns will be carried out across the district and sought cooperation of media persons for coverage of these events for vast dissemination to make the campaign more effective on ground zero.

The DC also highlighted various measures and initiatives that have been taken to curb the drug menace and added that a full fledged drug de-addiction centre will be made functional soon in the district.

The meeting was also attended by ADC, ACR, SDM Noorabad, ACD, Tehsildar and other officers.

Media persons hailed this initiative of District Administration against drug menace and assured vibrant and full cooperation from their end.
