Har Ghar Tiranga: Series of Activities carried out in Kathua

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KATHUA, AUGUST 13: As Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign kick starts across the country, the Kathua district witnessed overwhelming response of citizens as Flag Hoisting, Tiranga rallies, Prabhat Feries were organised on the first day of the three day campaign across the district.

In remote tehsil Bani, a massive Tiranga Rally was organised wherein over two thousand students and ninety staff members took part.

The school students, holding National Flag in their hands amid chanting  of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’  passed through main bazaars of the tehsil headquarters.

A sensitization cum Flag Distribution Ceremony was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, States Taxes, Kathua Ranjit Singh where he gave away National Flag to the staff members to hoist at their homes and  become part of  Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

The DC and staff members also distributed Flags among incoming passengers at Lakhanpur entry point.

People were also briefed about the Flag Code so that they can maintain the sanctity of the National Flag at all times.

In border tehsil Marheen, a massive Tiranga Car & Bike Rally was organised  which was flagged off by Tehsildar, Lekh Raj. A large number of inhabitants  of the border village Mukandpur Choudhrian  and peripheral Panchayats participated in the Rally.

The Tiranga rally touched Marheen and Hiranagar tehsil and culminated back at Mukundpur Chaudhrian.

At Billawar, NYK Kathua organised a Parbhat Feri at Dhar Mahanpur which witnessed active participation of students drawn from different schools. Amid singing Patriotic songs, the procession passed through different parts of the block headquarters to spread the message of  hoisting the  National Flag from 13-15 August under Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Likewise, Government Departments and Educational Institutions also hoisted the tricolour and distributed National Flags in offices and schools.
