Team of officers visit village Indri- Sajwal to assess losses due to rains

SDM directs Flood Control deptt to start soil erosion protection work

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KHOUR, JULY 25: SDM Khour, Anil Kumar Thakur  alongwith Tehsildar Pargwal, Manjeet Singh, on Monday visited village Indri- Sajwal situated at a distance of nearly 70 KMs from Tehsil HQ, to assess the losses due to incessant rains.

The officers also visited the right bank of river Chenab where the flooded river is causing erosion to the Paddy fields.

A large chunk of agricultural land has been washed away due to flooding in the Chenab.

The SDM directed XEN and AEE Flood Control to immediately start the remedial work to prevent further damage to the fertile Paddy fields.

The SDM also advised the general public to avoid venturing near the river to avoid any untoward incident.
