Incessant rains :- Ramban administration issues high alert advises people not to venture near river banks, nallahs
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR Srinagar JULY 21:– In view of the incessant rains, the Ramban administration has sounded high alert and advised people not to venture towards river banks and nallahs.
“In view of heavy rains across Ramban District and prediction of more rains over the next few days by MeT Department, J&K, Executive Engineer, JSD I&FC, Ramban, is hereby directed to remain alert to any possible cloudbursts/ flashflood developing situations due to increase in water level in rivers/ nallahs. He shall activate I&FC engineering wing across the district and submit six-hourly reports in the District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC).” Reads an advisory issued District Magistrate Ramban Mussarat Islam.

“All Tehsildars are similarly advised to monitor the situation on hourly basis and submit six-hourly reports in DEOC.” It added.
“Further, Chief Education Officer, Ramban, shall issue written directions to all the Heads of the Institutions in District Ramban to take utmost care in ensuring that all schoolchildren reach homes safely after closure of schools.” It added further.
“Furthermore, Chief Medical Officer, Ramban and all Block Medical Officers, shall maintain high preparedness to cater to any medical emergencies in their respective jurisdictions which may be reported in view of heavy rains in the district.” It added.
“General public is advised not to venture near riverbanks/ nallah banks and avoid travelling on roads, including NH-44, due to threat of shooting stones/ slides/ mudslides.” It added further.
