Every J&K party united over restoration of Article 370, 35-A: Farooq Abdullah

SRINAGAR, SEP 28 (PTK): National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday warned the government against sacking the employees on the ground that they had links with terrorists, saying the move would create more problems.

“The government should stop this. Terrorism will not go down, it will only increase and create more problems for them (government),” Abdullah told reporters here.

He was responding to questions about the dismissal of government employees on various grounds related to terrorism and separatism.

On September 22, six government employees, including two policemen, were dismissed from service in Jammu and Kashmir for their alleged links with terrorists.

Replying to a question, the Lok Sabha member from Srinagar said that he has not received any information about the next meeting of the Delimitation Commission of Jammu and Kashmir.

“As an MP, I have to sit in the Delimitation Commission but till now I have not received any information,” he said.

Asked about the restoration of statehood and special constitutional status to Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah said, “We want to do it the Gandhian way.”

“The matter is in the Supreme Court. There has been no hearing. What can we do? We cannot throw stones. We want to do it the Gandhian way,” he said. (PTK)
