DIG SKR distributes Wheel Chairs among physically challenged persons of police families in Anantnag.
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR | Anantnag : Abdul Jabbar (IPS) DIG south Kashmir Range distributed wheel chairs among 18 physically challenged persons at a function organized at District Police Lines Anantnag.
The beneficiaries hail from families of police personnel posted in Anantnag district . DIG SKR interacted with the beneficiaries and assured them all support from police department to make their life easy. While interacting with them he said that the persons with physical challenges need to be taken care of by society and police department will always play it’s role in this regard.
He advised the police officers and jawans to show empathy and kindness towards such segment of society and come forward with helping hand to make them feel part and parcel of the society.

He also asked the beneficiaries not to allow their physical infirmities to come in their way to stay active in their lives in pursuits that suit them.

People have huge expectations associated with this mega project: Ghulam Mohammad Mir
Press trust of kashmir | SRINAGAR : Apni Party District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Mir on Tuesday expressed his resentment over the suspension of proposed construction of AIIMS hospital at Awantipora-Pulwama.
In a statement issued here, Mir said that after the initiation of preliminary construction of the AIIMS hospital at Awantipora, the already languid construction work has now come to a gnawing halt after the announcement of Covid-19 lockdown in March.
“The construction work of such a prestigious hospital shouldn’t have to stop but due to the lackadaisical and sluggish approach adapted by the company and administration alike, it appears that the completion of this much awaited project may take several decades,” he remarked.

He emphasized that if the work is carried out on a priority basis it would eventually also end the current dearth of requisite health care facilities in the Kashmir division.
“The people have huge expectations associated with this mega project. As the functioning of this hospital will considerably lower the pressures on health care facilities in Kashmir division. The induction of modern and advanced medical technologies in this hospital will act as a panacea for patients who are helpless but to travel to Delhi and other parts of the country for better treatment facilities,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that the government had already excluded the public-sector projects from the restrictive ambience of the lockdown but the deserted look of the hospital site reveals that the implementation of such an edict is faulty on ground zero.

“I hereby appeal to the government of J&K to take serious note of this standstill situation and exhort the associated company to initiate the work on the hospital site at once so that the people don’t have to suffer for decades to see this hospital running in its full capacity,” he demanded.(PTK)
