Encounter breaks out in Sopore

Press Trust of Kashmir | Sopore : An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Warpora Sopore area of Baramulla district on Friday evening, police said.

Acting on specific input, the security personnel launched a cordon and search operation in the Warpora area of Sopore, they said

A senior official said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired at the search party of the security men, who then returned fire.

The exchange of fire was on and further details were awaited, he added.

This is second encounter in the day in Kashmir valley as earlier one militant was killed in an encounter at Shopian.(PTK).

While paying rich tributes to Shri Sasan, the duo prayed for peace to his departed soul and much needed strength to the bereaved family to bear the inconsolable loss. The duo also expressed solidarity with the grief stricken family at this difficult time.
Among others party general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamal, Provincial Presidents Nasir Aslam Wani and Devender Singh Rana; Satwant Kour Dogra, and JS Azad have also expressed profound grief over the demise of Shri Sasan, prayed for peace to his soul, and fortitude to bereaved to bear the irreparable loss.
 Meanwhile party’s District President Baramulla Javed Dar condoled the demise of Block secretary Abdul Rahim of Malpura Narwah, Baramulla. In his condolence message he recalled the services of the deceased for the party and prayed for peace to his soul.  Among others party’s senior leader GH Rahi visited the grief stricken family to express solidarity with them in their hour of grief and loss.(PTK).
