First practice then preach, Awami Itehad Party excoriates Modi Government’s Covid-19 response.

Srinagar April 21 (PTK) Lashing out at the unconcerned indecorous approach of current political regime in India, incarcerated Er Abdul Rashid led Jammu Kashmir Awami Itehad Party admonished Modi Government over addressing rising Covid-19 cases. Denouncing role of ruling dispensation for holding mammoth election rallies in West Bengal, allowing huge gatherings of lakhs in Kumbh mela, religous functions alongwith stripping elected CM in New Delhi of his governing rights, toppling Governments, continued trampling of civil rights of comman citizens amidst pandemic Awami Itehad Party top brass reminded Modi regime of its “constitunal duties towards citizens at large”. Resolutely questioning Governemnt’s functioning in particular over last few months when Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra and New Delhi rose mercurially Awami Itehad Party strongly castigated Modi regime and demanded Government of the day to first lead by example, practice and then preach others. What moral authority does Modi or Amit Shah have to sermonise people on following Covid-19 SOP’s when they themselves have been flouting all norms left, right and Center asked AIP leadership? People might accuse us today of playing politics but it must be noted that we’ve suggested all possible pro-people measures to this barefaced Government over last one and half years. But it seems they have taken magnanimity of opposition parties as a sign of weakness. Not only have they played with common citizen’s lives but also robbed them of any assistance deserved from coffers of the state. What percentage of India’s budgetary allocation was actually spent on the poor and destitute who were left to die on the streets? It’s not even 10% of India’s GDP, their twenty lakh crore package was a bogie of assistance via- loans and subsidies and no substantial direct financial aid. Leave comparison with the top nations like UK, US, Canada,Japan or Germany, their financial package was even worse than Bangladesh lamented Party Spokesperson Sheeban Ashai. Even in Jammu And Kashmir the 350 crore Covid package was a repugnant vile joke on the miseries of people. Shortage of basic oxygen cylinders, ventilators, huge deficiency of hospital beds, life saving drugs even in major metropolitan cities in India show that all efforts of central government were directed on disenfranchising common citizens rather than capacity building for fighting covid-19. Had all energies of the State by present regime not been focused towards elections, crushing opposition, gagging media necessary attention of authorities could have been directed towards oxygen cylinders and Covid-19 handling. To be honest if there is a speck of integrity left in position of being the “Custodian of Indian constitution”; the first citizen-President of India must immediately dismiss this demoniacal Government. India is being coined as an electoral autocracy under Modi, it has lost its democratic status. Let the President’s office deal directly with pandemic of this scale and severity, if lives of common people have to be saved Modi and his Government has to go, they have been allowed to toy with millions of lives for far too long, added Ashai. Even in Jammu & Kashmir, New Delhi parachuted LG and coterie up until now we’re too busy enjoying jam packed gatherings, music concerts, dance shows. Tulip festivals, and what not tomfoolery was given precedence over saving precious lives of people. Awami Itehad Party leadership still in larger public interest firmly urged people to wear masks, ensure physical distancing, get themselves vaccinated at the soonest. Party leadership earnestly solicited everyone to follow all necessary covid-19 protocols for their own safety but  with ardent unreservedness stated that present day Government of India under Modi had lost all moral authority to govern.
