Brief exchange of fire in orchards of Kamrazipora Pulwamq, search operation underway

KULGAM, KASHMIR, INDIA-APRIL 11 : Indian army soldiers are seen near the gun-battle site in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam some 60 kilometers from Srinagar the summer capital of Indian controlled Kashmir on April 11, 2018. Four civilians were killed by government forces after the clashes erupt following a gun battle between rebels and Indian forces,one Indian army soldier was also killed in an ongoing encounter,police said

A brief exchange of fire took place in orchards of Kamrazipora area of Pulwama on Wednesday morning.

An official said that on specific information about the presence of militants, joint team of forces including 53 RR, police and CRPF launched search operation in orchards of Kamrazipora.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retialated.

He said that after brief exchange of fire, cordon has been extended and search operation has been started to trace the hiding militants.(PTK)
