DC Ganderbal inspects ongoing macadamization work on Hatbura-Shalabug road

GANDERBAL, JULY 25 (PTK) : Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba today visited Hatbura where he inspected ongoing macdamization work on Hatbura-Shalabug road.

During the visit, the Executive Engineer PMGSY, Mushtaq Ahmad briefed the DC about the progress of work. He informed the DC that the 3.5 km road from Hatbura to Shalabug was sanctioned in 2018-19 under 12th phase of PMGSY scheme at the estimated cost of Rs 3.51 crore including 5 year maintenance by the executing agency which is in final stage of completion. He said black topping on said road is in full swing and 2.5 km of length is already macadamized.

While giving details about the target and achievements for black topping of roads in the district, the Executive Engineer informed the DC that 11.86 km length of roads are already macadamized including Wussan-Bela Wussan Road, Kachnambal-Pethpora road and Chappergund-Babawail road out of 35.30 km target for the year 2020-21, besides macadamization on other roads including Lar-Chontiwar and Kachnambal-Wangath via Baba Nagri is in full swing.

The DC directed the Executive Engineer to expedite the works on all roads so that black topping is completed at an earliest with no compromise on quality parameters. He also stressed to follow guidelines of PMGSY while executing the works and implement the same in letter and spirit.

Important to mention here that with the commissioning of Hatbura-Shalbugh road the difficulties faced by the people living in adjoining villages shall be eased including Hakeemgund, Hatbura, Chenduna, Paribal and Shalabug.
