COVID-19: Extensive Fumigation conducted in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, March,(PTK) 19: – To contain the spread of COVID-19, an extensive fumigation drive was today conducted at various places in district Ganderbal.

The deputed teams disinfected various public places including District Hospital, Jamia Masjid Beehama, main Market Duderhama and Beehama.

The drive was personally monitored by the deputy Commissioner, Shafqat Iqbal. SSP Ganderbal, ADC Ganderbal, Chairman Municipal Committee Ganderbal and EO Municipality were present on the occasion.

The DC also inspected various drug stores in the district and checked the availability of masks, hand sanitizers and other personal hygienic material.

During the fumigation, the awareness regarding dos and don’ts was also generated among the people.

While interacting with the people, The DC urged them to contribute by way of cooperation in tackling the situation raised due to Covid-19.

He reiterated that general public must take basic precautions such as personal hygiene, washing hands and also report any symptoms to medical agencies to control the infection.

He said by enhancing hygiene, keeping surrounding disinfected, sanitized and practicing social distancing will minimize the transmission of coronavirus infection.

He also appealed all the masjid imams of the district to shorten Friday sermons in the mosques and make people aware about the dos and don’ts to combat the spread of infection.

The general public was also urged to avoid social gathering, unnecessarily visit to market places, hospitals, govt.
