Timber smugglers attack forest team in Handwara, Police lodged FIR

SRINAGAR, (PTK): A Forest Guard was injured after timber smugglers attacked a forest protection team in Sheikpora Hiril village of north Kashmir’s Handwara in Kupwara district on Saturday mid-night.
Naseer Ahmad,an official said that the smugglers were asked to stop at the naka laid by forest team around 3AM on Saturday.
“They attacked the team before fleeing from the spot on Horses, resulting in injuries to a forest Guard ” he said, adding that the injured forest Guard was identified as Zahoor Ahmad Khan.
Meanwhile Police station Qalamabad after receiving a written letter from the forest team has registered a Case FIR Number 82/18 us 332/ 336 RPC 6 FA against nine smugglers in this regard. (PTK)
