Sakeena Itoo Inaugurates PGRP Conclave-2026 at GDC Srinagar

Srinagar, May 21 (PTK): Sakeena Itoo on Wednesday inaugurated the Post Graduate Research Programme (PGRP) Conclave-2026 at Government Dental College Srinagar and emphasized the importance of research and innovation in strengthening the healthcare sector and improving patient care.

Addressing doctors, academicians, researchers and students during the event, the Minister said that research-oriented learning and innovation are essential for addressing emerging health challenges and ensuring quality healthcare services for the people.

She stated that platforms like the PGRP Conclave provide young medical professionals and scholars an opportunity to present their research work, exchange ideas and contribute towards advancements in medical science.

Sakeena Itoo appreciated the efforts of the faculty, students and organisers for promoting a culture of scientific inquiry and academic excellence through the conclave.

“Doctors play a pivotal role in society and the profession of medicine is one of the noblest professions meant to serve humanity with dedication, compassion and commitment,” the Minister said.

She urged young doctors and researchers to remain committed towards ethical medical practices while continuously striving for excellence in patient care and scientific research.

The Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure, promoting medical education and encouraging research activities across the Union Territory.

Earlier, Principal of Government Dental College Srinagar presented an overview of the objectives and significance of the conclave.

During the programme, the Minister interacted with students and faculty members and appreciated their contribution towards academic and healthcare excellence. She also released the Newsletter on Research Conclave-2026.(PTK)
