Srinagar Police Attaches ₹1.20 Crore Property of Drug Peddler Under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan

Srinagar, May 14 (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached a residential house along with land worth approximately ₹1.20 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Srinagar under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

Police said the attached property belongs to Adil Manzoor Bhat alias Watson, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Pamposh Colony Noorbagh, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Safakadal.

According to officials, the accused is involved in FIR No. 48/2022 registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and is presently out on bail granted by the court.

The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after obtaining approval from the competent authority, SAFEMA, New Delhi.

Police said the action was executed by a specially constituted team led by the Incharge Police Post Noorbagh under the supervision of senior officers while following all legal formalities and procedures.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and warned that strict legal action, including attachment of illegally acquired properties, would continue against individuals involved in narcotics trafficking.

Police also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share information regarding drug peddling or narcotics-related activities to help build a drug-free society.(PTK)
