Central Kashmir Excise Range Destroys Illegal Poppy Cultivation at Multiple Locations

Srinagar, May 09 (PTK): Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the Central Kashmir Excise Range intensified its crackdown against illicit narcotic cultivation by destroying illegal poppy crops at multiple locations across the Srinagar-Budgam-Ganderbal range.

The drive was carried out under the leadership of Excise Commissioner Vaibhav Kohli and under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kashmir Tabassum Shafat Kamili.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Revenue Department and Agriculture Department. Officials said FIRs under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act were registered at the concerned police stations.

Authorities stated that all legal formalities, including seizure, sampling and destruction of the illegal cultivation, were completed on the spot as per procedure.

The Excise Department said the enforcement action reflects its continued commitment towards curbing illegal narcotic activities and upholding the rule of law across the region.(PTK)
