Justice Sanjeev Kumar Appointed Acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court
Srinagar, April 9, 2025 (PTK): In a significant development, the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, has officially notified the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Kumar as the Acting Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court. This decision, which comes under the provisions of Article 223 of the Constitution of India, will be effective from April 10, 2025.
Justice Kumar’s appointment follows the retirement of Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan, who will retire on April 9. As per the official notification, Justice Kumar, who has been serving as a judge at the J&K and Ladakh High Court, will take over the responsibilities of Acting Chief Justice on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
