SRINAGAR : Congress leader and Party’s State General Secretary Kadfeen Choudhary on Wednesday termed the huge polling percentage in Srinagar Constituency as an eye-opener for those who have been viewing Jammu and Kashmir with jaundiced eyes, stating that the people here are welcoming the arrival of democracy and fair play and very soon a new dawn of prosperity will be witnessed.

Kadfeen while meeting several delegations from South Kashmir on Monday said that not stones or guns but ballot alone is going to end the people’s hardships and that the masses in Jammu and Kashmir particularly the youth have realised the power of democracy and such a transformation is going to bring in a very positive change on the ground. “The image of Jammu and Kashmir is changing and the way people are coming out in hordes to cast their votes is overwhelming. This is changing the scenario. This is changing the equations,” Kadfeen said.

He added that it is high time to realise people’s power and channelise the same in the proper way. He also stressed people to come out in huge numbers and use the power of ballot in the remaining phases in Kashmir so that the popular government could be by the people and for the people. Kadfeen said that it is finally a positive change being witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir and peace has now become a permanent feature of the state.
