7 Lives Lost, 8 Injured in Baramulla Road Mishap

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Boniyar, Baramulla district, where seven lives were tragically cut short in a fatal road accident at Bujhthalan. Meanwhile, eight survivors are currently receiving medical care at a local hospital.

 

An official from the Press Trust of Kashmir revealed that the bodies of the deceased passengers have been recovered and will be handed over to their grieving families following the completion of necessary medico-legal formalities.

 

The official identified the victims as follows:

 

– Tahira Begum (35), wife of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh

– Ameena Bano (17), daughter of Abdul Gani Sheikh

– Mohd Maqbool Sheikh (70), son of Ahmad Sheikh

– Mohd Maqsood Sheikh (35), son of Gh Rasool Sheikh of Bujthalan

– Abdul Rehman Lone (60), son of Fatah Lone

– Sameena Begum (45), wife of Abdul Hameed Sheikh

– Sarwa Begum (55), wife of Late Ghulam Mohd Bakhshi

 

“The injured persons are currently under medical care at GMC Baramulla,” stated the official. This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the critical need for ongoing efforts to enhance road safety measures and minimize the occurrence of such tragic accidents in the region. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, and we wish a speedy recovery to those undergoing treatment.
