KPSS call off 248 hour long Fast Unto Death Protest after written assurance from UT of JK

Srinagar. Oct 1: Kashmiri Pandit Sangarash Samiti (KPSS) in a statement issued to( PTK), that Shri. Sanjay Tickoo, President KPSS and Shri. Sandeep Koul, Youth Activist have broken their fast-unto-death pledge at the Shri Sidhi Vinayak, Ganesh Mandir, Ganpatyaar Habba Kadal,

Srinagar, on 30.09.2020 at 08:30 Pm, following by the visit from Mr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, where he handed a written assurance to the KPSS President that” the demands projected by KPSS will be addressed promptly and will be taken to the logical conclusion. ”
They added that visit by the senior government official was preceded by emissaries of the Chief Secretary as well as the additional Deputy Commissioner having visited the venue a number of times to negotiate with the KPSS President in the last two days. So the fast has been called off after 248 hours of Fast-Unto-Death pledge.(PTK)
They claimed that there has been never before any major political parties in the erstwhile State ever taken a united stand censuring the Local Government and the Central Administration for its apathy towards valley-based “non-migrant” Kashmiri Pandits. KPSS wish thanks to the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), the Jammu & Kashmir Indian National Congress (JKINC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) and the CPI-M for their vocal and written support to valley based Kashmiri Pandits at this hour of need.
