4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Chenab Valley

PTK MONITORING DESK

Doda, Oct 13: A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Chenab Valley early this morning, with its epicenter located in the Gundoh area of Doda district. The tremor occurred at approximately 6:14 AM, shaking the entire region. Although the earthquake was brief, it was strong enough to wake residents.

“We don’t often experience such moderate quakes, but this one woke us all up. The tremor was so sudden that no one had time to leave their homes,” said a resident of Doda town.

The Chenab Valley has witnessed frequent earthquakes in recent years. Experts believe that these moderate tremors help release seismic pressure, reducing the chances of a major earthquake.

No loss of life or property has been reported so far.
