30 Vehicles challaned in Bandipora for overcharging

Bandipora, Oct 17 (PTK): A team headed by ARTO Bandipora, Suhaib Ahmad on saturday conducted extensive checking on different inter-district routes of Bandipora and imposed fine on the traffic violators.

On specific complaints from Public for over charging of sumo fare from passengers ARTO Bandipora Seized many vehicles and realises fine. ARTO warned those drivers who are charging extra fare from Bandipora to Srinagar to face sever consequences for it.

During the drive, more than 100 vehicles were checked by the team and the violators were fined for charging extra fare, driving without seat belts and crash helmets and plying of vehicles in contravention of Registration Certificates and route permits. 30 vehicles challaned for over charging.
Moreover, road safety tips were imparted among the bikers at various spots during the intensive checking. Vehicles were also challaned for plying without (HSRP) High Security Registration Plates.(PTK)
