11Kgs of Morchella esculenta (Guchhies) seized by DFO Anantnag, driver arrested

Srinagar, Jun 07 (PTK): On a tip of information received by DFO Anantnag FEROZ AHMAD CHAKET a naka was laid near Thajiwara Achabal. Naka party intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no JK 03E 3288 WAGNON-R was asked to stop.

On checking the vehicle party seized 11 kgs of dry Morchella esculenta ( Guchhies) approx worth Rs 1.80 lacs from culprit namely Nissar Ahmad Thokar s/o Abdul Khaliq  Accused was arrested on spot and has been handed over to concerned police station. FIR has been lodged and vehicle alongwith seized stocks have been carted down to the seizure depot.

Remember, Forest Division Anantnag has geared up against the smugglers who damage medicinal plants and smuggle them.

Meanwhile, Chief conservator of Forests Farooq Ahmed Gillani and Conservator South Tawheed Ahamed Deva have appreciated this action by Anantnag Forest Division. (PTK)
