117 more test positive in J&K, tally crosses 2700 mark
J&K reports two more deaths related to covid
Srinagar June 2 (PTK) The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir crossed 2700 mark on Tuesday as 117 fresh infections were reported which includes 14 pregnant ladies.
Officials said that among new 117 new cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, 22 were tested positive at SKIMS, 44 at CD hospital, 6 at JVC Bemina, 19 at Army’s command hospital Udhampur besides other private labs.
Among 117 new cases, 77 belong to Kashmir division while as 40 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 2076 including 818 recoveries and 29 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 642 including 135 recoveries and 4 deaths.
They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1731 including 1229 from Kashmir division and 503 from Jammu division.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 11 from Kulgam, 15 from Srinagar, 8 from Budgam, 10 from Kupwara, 07 from Shopian, 07 from Baramulla, 5 from Bandipora and 14 from Pulwama in Kashmir division while as 40 from Jammu include 13 from Jammu, 9 from Ramban, 2 from Kuthua, 2 from Udhampur, 1 from Samba district, 9 from Poonch, 3 from Rajouri and one from Doda,” officials disclosed.
Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS said out of 860 samples tested at the hospital 22 were tested positive.
Dr salim Khan Nodal officer for Covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that out of 500 samples tested at CD hospital, 52 were tested positive.
Lt col Inam Danish Khan from Army’s Command Hospital said that out of 317 pooled and 100 unpooled tests, 19 were tested positive including 9 from Ramban, 2 from Udhampur and 8 from Poonch.
Officials from JVC Bemina said that among the samples tested at the hospital on Tuesday, 6 were tested positive.
Meanwhile with the death of an elderly woman from north Kashmir’ Baramulla district and a young man from Lolab, Kupwara, who died on Monday and were tested positive for Covid-19 day after their death, toll of Covid-19 related deaths in J&K has reached to 33 including 29 from Kashmir division and 04 from Jammu division.
Principal Govt Medical college Baramulla Dr Abdul Hamid said that an elderly lady from Baramulla was brought dead to GMC on Monday.
Soon after, she was brought dead, her samples were taken and sent for reports which came positive on Tuesday, he said, adding that her body was kept in mortuary of the hospital.
He said that since she was elderly she was having many underlying problems he said adding that her body is being handed over to family as per protocol.
Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that a 27 year old male from Lolab, Kupwara was admitted in SMHS Hospital Srinagar on Monday with Bilateral pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and died within an hour of Admission and he was tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
According to PTK ,As per officials figures 349 positive cases including five deaths and 126 recoveries are from Anantnag, 311 including four deaths and 32 recoveries are from Kulgam, 305 including seven deaths and 141 recoveries are from Srinagar, 289 including 76 recoveries and one death is from Kupwara, 245 including 103 recoveries and six deaths are from Baramulla, 181 including 108 recoveries and three deaths are from Shopian, 151 including 134 recoveries and one death from Bandipora, 119 including 61 recoveries and two deaths are from Budgam, 34 including 24 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 92 including 13 recoveries are from Pulwama.
In Jammu division, 157 including 41 recoveries and two deaths are from Jammu district, 153 including 16 recoveries are from Ramban, 80 including 27 recoveries are from Kathua, 69 including 26 recoveries and one death is from Udhampur, 45 including 13 recoveries from Samba, 49 are from Poonch, 36 including 05 recoveries are from Rajouri, 14 including 03 recoveries area from Reasi, 12 including 03 recovery is from Kishtwar, 27 including 01 recovery and one death is from Doda.
As per the daily information bulletin 185,119 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 43,635 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1732 persons are in hospital isolation while as 43 persons are under hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin, 89,456 persons have completed surveillance period and 50,220 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 180,349 samples are available.
Out of 180,349 the number of samples tested negative stands at 180,349 while as 2718 have been tested positive, among them 1732 are active and 953 persons have recovered and 33 persons have died.(PTK)
