10 Structures Gutted in Kupwara Blaze

Kupwara, Oct 23: A devastating overnight fire in Hyhama, Kupwara, left several families homeless after 10 structures, including four residential houses, were gutted, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The fire, which broke out around midnight, ravaged four houses, three cowsheds, and three shops. Firefighters from five nearby stations—Payerpora, HQ Kupwara, Trehgam, Drugmulla, and Tekipora—worked tirelessly for hours to control the flames.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation by local police.

Residents have called for swift compensation for the affected families, highlighting the urgent need for relief.
