04 gamblers arrested in Kulgam; Stake money seized
Press Trust of Kashmir | KULGAM : Acting tough against social crimes, Kulgam Police have arrested four gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money.
Acting on specific information regarding the gambling activities, a police party from Police Post Mirbazar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Shri Govind Rattan-JKPS raided the suspected place in village Akhran Nowpora and apprehended 04 persons. They have been identified as Aadil Ahmad Sheikh son of Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh resident of Palpora Noorbagh Srinagar, Mohammad Aasif Rather son of Mushtaq Ahmad Rather resident of Qamarwari Srinagar, Aijaz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Khaliq Dar resident of Qamarwari Srinagar and Aaqib Ahmad Shan son of Ghulam Jeelani Shan resident of Nowpora Aakhran Kulgam. Moreover, during the raid two persons involved in the commission of crime identified as Dawson Ahmad Pala@Dada son of Gulzar Ahmad Pala and Aabid Majeed Bhat son of Abdul Majeed Bhat both residents of Nowpora Akhran Kulgam fled away from the spot and efforts are on to effect their arrest.

Officers have seized stake money of ₹42,640/- a vehicle Santro car bearing registration No. JK01D-9558 and a set of playing cards from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 132/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.

Police seeks public cooperation to mitigate spread of virus
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police have enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. During the last 24hrs, Police have arrested 03 persons, lodged 02 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹2,06,620/- from 1912 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19.
The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others.
