Srinagar, July 19 : Two foreign terrorists were killed in an encounter in the Keran area of Kupwara district on Thursday.
An official reported that on July 18 at approximately 12:30 PM, alert troops observed the movement of two terrorists through thick foliage on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC). The infiltrating terrorists were challenged, following which they opened fire, leading to an intense firefight.
“Two hardcore foreign terrorists were killed, and weapons, war-like stores, and a Pakistani identity card were recovered,” the official stated.
“This successful intelligence-based operation is yet another example of the close synergy between the Indian Army, BSF, and JKP,” he added.
This marks the third such successful anti-infiltration operation on the LoC in recent weeks, underscoring the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control and the robust counter-infiltration posture aimed at preserving peace in the Kashmir Valley.
