Er Aijaz thanks MD for allotting 30 new transformers for area; Apprises him about concerns raised by locals of area

Press Trust Of Kashmir | Srinagar, May 17: BJP leader and DDC member for Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain Tuesday met Managing Director J&K Power Development Corporation Ltd (J&KPDCL) Basharat Qayoom and discussed various issues related to streamlining power distribution system in Pantha Chowk, Athwajan, Zewan, Zafran Colony and Balhama.

The MD J&K PDCL informed Er Aijaz that the areas under his DDC constituency Khonmoh & other areas of Panthachowk, Zewan , Zawoora, Athwajan have been covered under Rs 5000 cr approved Revamp Infra and modernisation scheme while as more measures were on cards.

Er Aijaz during his meeting with the MD deliberated on further improving the HT/LT system in Pantha Chowk, Ahtwajan, Zewan, zawoora, Zafran Colony and Balhama areas and stressed on immediate removal of outdated electric poles and installation of new ones while laying new HT/LT lines in the area so that people get quality power supply.

The DDC member for Khonmoh also thanked the J&K PDCL MD for allotting 30 transformers from Sempora to Balhama for streamlining the power distribution system in the area. He, however, said that there were no immediate plans of installing the smart meters in the area.

Er Aijaz also informed the J&K PDCL employees about the massive protest held by the locals of Zafran Colony against the installation of smart meters in the area. He, however, said that new transformers were being installed to streamline the power distribution while as HT/LT lines were being laid to provide quality power to people of the area. While assuring all the possible support, MD told Er Aijaz that under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Revamp distribution system, all the outdated (HT/LT) system, old network, faulty transformers, lines, poles will be removed and new ones will be installed across the UT on fast track basis. :-PTK.
