Leopard killed after it mauls nine sheep in Shopian Village

Srinigar Jan 06 (PTK):A leopard was killed by locals after it mauled nine sheep to death in Shopian village on Tuesday late night.

Locals said that after killing nine sheep belonging to Ghulam Mohammad Mir of Oudur village in Trenz belt of Shopian district, leopard hidded in a cowshed.

The owner of the cowshed informed the locals, who rushed to the spot and killed the leopard, they said.

Wildlife warden division Shopian Suhail Intesar while confirming the incident said that leopard has been killed in retialation by locals after it killed nine sheeps.

He added that team has been deputed to the area to investigate the matter. (PTK)
