Drug Peddler Arrested in Ganderbal; 3.28 Kgs of Contraband Seized

Srinagar December 14 (PTK) In its continued efforts to combat the drug menace and ensure a drug-free society, District Police Ganderbal has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kheerbawani and seized a significant quantity of contraband.

In a statement issued to PTK, Earlier today, a police team from PS Kheerbawani, while conducting a checkpoint (naka) at Polytechnic College Hatbura, intercepted a pedestrian identified as Wahid Ahmad Shah, son of Mohd Yousuf Shah, resident of Shallbugh. During the search, the team recovered 3.28 kilograms of Bangpatri concealed in a white bag. The contraband substance was seized, and the accused was immediately taken into custody.

A case under FIR No. 54/2024 has been registered at PS Kheerbawani under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The investigation is ongoing.
