Gunfight in Kulgam: Four Militants Killed, Soldier Martyred

Srinagar, July 06: Four unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight in the Chinnigam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
A top police officer confirmed that four militants have been killed in the intense exchange of fire, which is still ongoing. The identities of the slain militants will be determined once the operation concludes.
The encounter started after security forces received a specific tip-off about the presence of militants in the Chinnigam area.
In a separate gunfight in the Mudergham area of Kulgam, an army soldier was killed in the initial exchange of fire. So far, there have been no reports of militant casualties in this encounter.
The situation remains tense as security forces continue to engage the militants in Chinnigam, with reinforcements deployed to ensure the area is secured.
