PDP frames committee to pave way for ex-ministers & legislators back into party fold

Srinagar, July 03: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has formed a committee led by Sartaj Madni to create a report and provide consultation on the rejoining of former ministers and legislators who had left the party some time back, said a source close to the PDP top brass.
The other members of the committee include Dr Mahboob Beig, Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura and Ab Rehman Veeri and other senior leaders.
The report will be submitted to the party’s political affairs committee, which includes party head Mehbooba Mufti. Following this consultation, decision will be taken about which ex-ministers and legislators will be welcomed back into the party, said the source.
Reports reveal that Abdul Haq Khan has been confirmed as joining both the party and the committee.
Highly placed sources said several others have also approached the party, including Imran Ansari, Ashraf Mir, Choudhary Zulfiqar, Ab Majeed Padder, Nizami Ud Din Bhat, Khursheed Alam, Yasir Reshi, Pir Mansoor, Raja Manzoor, Rahim Rather, Noor Mohammad, Qamar Ali and more.
The rejoining process is expected to occur within the next 2 to 3 days after the committee submits its report.
