PTK MONITORING DESK
JAMMU, June 30: On Sunday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive searches at multiple locations in Rajouri district, Jammu & Kashmir, as part of their investigation into the Reasi terrorist attack.
The attack occurred on June 9th, when terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori to Katra in the Pouni area of Reasi district. The assault caused the bus to plunge into a nearby gorge, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including a child.
Following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the NIA assumed control of the investigation on June 15th. On Sunday, they searched five locations linked to hybrid terrorists and Overground Workers (OGWs). These locations were identified based on information provided by the arrested suspect, Hakam Khan, also known as Hakin Din. According to NIA investigations, Hakam had provided the terrorists with safe shelter, logistics, and food.
The searches, part of the ongoing NIA probe (case number RC-02/2024/NIA/JMU), led to the seizure of various items that indicated connections between the terrorists and OGWs. The NIA is now examining the seized materials to uncover the full scope of the terror conspiracy.
The investigation continues as the NIA strives to piece together the details and bring those responsible to justice.
