Heat Wave Continues in Kashmir Valley, Ganderbal Records Hottest Day of Season at 33.6°C

Ganderbal, May 23: The mercury soared to 33.6°C in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, marking the season’s hottest day in the Kashmir valley during the month of May.
A meteorological department official reported that the maximum temperature of 33.6°C was recorded in Ganderbal district, followed closely by Qazigund at 32.6°C.
Temperature data for other districts is as follows: Srinagar City at 32.2°C, Kupwara at 30.6°C, Kokarnag at 30.1°C, Pahalgam at 27.3°C, Baramulla at 32.1°C, Bandipora at 31.6°C, Budgam at 32.2°C, Pulwama at 32.2°C, Anantnag at 30.7°C, and Shopian at 31.4°C.
The Kashmir valley, along with parts of Jammu, is currently experiencing an intensified heat wave. Meteorologists predict that hot and dry weather conditions will persist throughout the next week.9
