Unscheduled Power Cuts Leave Tral Residents in Despair

Pulwama, 4 May: Tral sub-division of Pulwama in South Kashmir has been grappling with unscheduled power cuts for the past few weeks, causing inconvenience among the local residents. People are expressing their discontentment towards the Power Development Department (PDD), stating that the erratic power cuts are causing them significant inconvenience.
According to the locals, the power supply comes for a mere few minutes and then abruptly goes off for an hour, thereby giving tough time to them and has disrupted their routines. They find it perplexing that while smart meters are being installed, power cuts continue to persist.
Furthermore, the residents have also raised concerns about the recent increase in power bills. They said that despite paying more for electricity, the department is failing to provide them with a consistent and reliable power supply as per the schedule.
Farooq Trali, Chairman of Citizen Council Tral, expressed his disappointment with the current power situation. He emphasized that it is disheartening to see that despite the installation of smart meters and the rise in bills, the power supply remains inconsistent.
Farooq Trali highlighted the plight of patients who rely on oxygen cylinders, as unscheduled power cuts pose a serious threat to their well-being.
In light of these issues, the local residents are urging the authorities to intervene and address the problem promptly, and believes that a reliable power supply is essential for the smooth functioning of their daily lives.
The locals hoped that their concerns will be taken seriously and that necessary actions will be taken to resolve the issue of unscheduled power cuts in Tral sub-division.
